When I see products that claim to lift the bust, rid cellulite or flatten tummies it really winds me up! NO cream can do that. But, when I saw Nip-Fab Glycolic fix body cream (£9.99 for 200ml) it caught my attention, in a good way, and I grabbed it off Boots’ shelf to find out more. The reason being the word ‘glycolic’, which is a chemical exfoliator. It gently resurfaces and smooths by dissolving dry, flaky, bumpy skin without the need of a body scrub or buffer.
Have you ever felt the back of your arms and thought, it feels a different texture to the rest of your skin, it’s called keratosis pilaris which is a build up of keratin. It looks like goosebumps or chicken skin. This product will treat that condition, leaving skin smoother and brighter whilst ridding the surface of the skin of dead skin cells. It also contains Salicylic Acid & Lactic Acid which are also exfoliators but have the added benefits of stimulating new collagen production and unclogging pores, so it’s ideal for congested backs and uneven scars. In-grown hairs will also be minimised with the removal of blocked pores. Oh, and it also absorbs quickly & has a nice light citrus smell, win win!
However, there’s two possible irritants in the product, fragrance & mineral oil. I have sensitive skin and these haven’t reacted with me but if you think you might have an issue, I’d suggest you’re best to do a patch test first, and people who are allergic to aspirin also shouldn’t use products with Salicylic Acid.
For similar products that don’t contain mineral oil, try Ameliorate Transforming body lotion
(£22.50 for 200ml) or try Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging 2% BHA Body lotion (£26.35 for 210ml) which doesn’t contain oil or fragrance. Both these products are thicker & more nourishing so better for very dry skins.
