LED Light Therapy - All you need to know!

Victoria Hayes • 16 February 2022

As a Skin Expert in Cheshire, I am constantly looking for new ways to treat skin conditions in a non invasive way. So I need to ask, have you seen pictures of the latest LED face mask craze?

Well, firstly, LED ( short for- Light Emitting Diode ) Light Therapy is a treatment that has grown in popularity over the last 2 years because of its exceptional results in promoting skin

health and rejuvenation, accelerating healing and resolving problem skin conditions for the face and body.

You had me at rejuvenation!

Also, this can be used in conjunction with any facial to boost results or used on its own as a stand alone treatment, and is suitable for teenagers and upwards.  I wish that treatments like this were available when I was suffering with teenage acne.

So Vicky, what is LED Light Therapy?

It is a non-invasive treatment that targets specific non-thermal light to energise cells which triggers a cascade of bio-stimulatory responses.  Basically, it kick starts cells to do a job! Whether that’s to stimulate collagen for anti-ageing benefits, repair skin damage or to kill bacteria.  They all start to work harder following light stimulation from the Light device.

The Gold Standard of devices

I’m so happy to let you know that my LED device is called Dermalux Flex which is the gold standard of professional LED phototherapy devices.  It’s medically CE certified for acne, psoriasis, wound healing and pain relief (musculoskeletal) and FDA approved.

Is LED painful?

No absolutely not!  In fact it's so relaxing most of my clients fall asleep! I provide you with goggles to wear and all you have to do is close your eyes and rest until the machine finishes. It almost feels like you're on holiday sunbathing but without the heat.

What are the results of the LED Light Therapy?

Results can last for several months following a course of Dermalux treatments.  However, regular maintenance treatments are advised to extend results as part of an on-going skin health programme. I have seen great results from a single treatment, especially in the reduction of red, irritated skin. LED is also very good for the reduction of pigmentation, rosacea and inflamed acne.

The research!

There are over 3,000 independent clinical studies supporting LED Phototherapy but only three wavelengths (nm) have been shown over time to deliver significant therapeutic outcomes; Blue 415nm, Red 633nm and Near Infrared 830nm.

I only use these 3. Blue light kills bacteria and reduces inflammation, Red light stimulates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, and Near Infrared reduces pigmentation and calms redness.

So if you’re ready to be Skin Confident with LED Phototherapy, get in touch.  I am taking consultations with clients to see how this incredible non invasive treatment can help.

How will Micro-needling improve my skin and give me a smoother appearance?
by Victoria Hayes 15 November 2021
How will Micro-needling improve my skin and give me a smoother appearance? As a leading Facial Rejuvenation expert in the Cheshire area , I meet many people who have yet to hear about Micro Needling! Most of the common skin concerns I see in my Alsager Salon , mainly with my over 40 client’s is dull, ageing, dehydrated skin. People think to have a smoother, fresher and a more even-toned appearance, you need to have invasive facial surgery! Fear not my friend, I have the perfect non-invasive solution for you! To celebrate Healthy Skin Month in November, I am showing you the most amazing treatment from me at Alsager Beauty. There’s never been a better time to take care of your skin, but if you don’t want to go under the knife, what is the alternative? Let me introduce you to latest celebrity facial, the Rejuvapen Micro-needling treatment, AKA Collagen Stimulation Therapy . THE go to non invasive facial treatment right now. So Vicky, what the heck is CST? It's a pen-like device used to puncture the skin to create tiny holes (not visible to the naked eye) to stimulate a wound healing response. The action of the pen breaks up old collagen type 1 and forms new young and springy type 3 in its place. This wound healing response results in the body producing more collagen and elastin, (which we stop producing naturally at around the age of 35, boo!) when the body is in the healing stage. It also stimulates the reproduction of hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in the skin (which also depletes from 40+). This juicy little acid keeps everything hydrated and plump. So win-win! I've had 3 treatments and I can definitely tell the difference. I’ve noticed my skin looks and feels firmer and my pores on my cheeks have reduced. My clients have all commented on their own skin's improvement. I've also had great results in reducing pigmentation patches. Take a look for yourself!
